Treatment Capabilities of Local Hospital Trusts

Introduction

Members of the Group come from quite a wide area of Sussex, centred on Haywards Heath, and are patients of a number of different hospital trusts although the majority will be patients of the Brighton and Sussex Universities Hospitals Trust.

Not all hospitals have the capability for all possible prostate cancer treatments and so we are working with a number of trusts to compile a schedule of their treatment capabilities to inform our members, and other prostate cancer sufferers in our area.

This is still work in progress and further hospital trusts will be added in due course and the Committee are now updating the material we have, to take account of, e.g., the provision of one-stop-shop diagnosis facilities including the use of mpMRI, greater use of high dose-rate brachytherapy in conjunction with external beam radio-therapy for locally advanced cancer, new radio-therapy machines and installations, and new radio-tracer dyes for use with PET/CT scanners.

We have agreed schedules with:

Brighton and Sussex Universities Hospitals Trust (updated March 2019)
Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust (updated March 2019)
Western Sussex NHS Foundation Trust
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (updated June 2019)

Click on the Trust title and you will be taken to the schedule for that Trust.
